Project Information: We demolished the conservatory and built an extension in it's place, knocking through into the kitchen. We also did a lot of internal remodeling, to make better use of the space.
This couple had two uses for their house: first and foremost it was the family home, and second, it was the premises from which they ran their cleaning business. It was necessary to extend the property both to provide more room for their growing family, and also to create a proper office for the business.
A full-scale house extension was called for, including demolition and internal remodelling. First we set about demolishing the old glass conservatory, replacing it with an extended brick-built version with a tiled pitched roof. Then, we fitted large double French doors with side lights to the back of the property, and created more space by filling in an open area under the bedroom window at the front of the house.
The family now benefits from a new office, built alongside a downstairs cloakroom with walk-in shower. For non-work time, they have a sunny new kitchen/diner that we constructed by removing the internal walls between the new extension and the existing kitchen and outhouse.
